Wedding Adventures

The wedding that I was planning went well, interesting but well. It all started on Tuesday, I picked up Mom Wierschke at the airport and then we spent 7 hours grocery shopping. We didn't get to bed until 1am.

Wednesday was very exciting, mom didn't have the cake pans so she cleaned my house all day. When Jon's sister got into town we found out that the groom had the cake pans all along. We didn't get to bed that night until 2:30am.

Thursday I was planning on decorating all day, but the groom didn't reserve the church(or something like that) and someone got the church for a soccer tournament. We didn't start decorating until 10:15pm and then we didn't have the table cloths so that delayed us by an hour. We stopped at 2:30am and it wasn't even half way finished. We didn't get to bed that night until 3:30am(Do you see a pattern).

Jon left for Penn State Friday morning at 6pm, I drove him. Luckily Heather went with me. After I got back I ran to the church to let the decorator in(she put up a back drop covered the other end and put up some fencing). Then I ran home showered and ran to the temple where I watched some kids. Then I took photos(this was the worst part). The Grooms dad was a jerk(there is no other way to put it, he was rude)! So I am trying to take photos of the bride and groom coming out of the temple and the dad keeps yelling at me that half of his family isn't there and that I cant take the photos. I very nicely told him to let me know when the rest of his family was there, he agreed that he would let me know. Meanwhile I took all of the shots with the brides family and a few other picture that the groom wanted.

When the rest of the family arrived we started in on those photos. I would pose people and the dad voice his opinion about the pose, and he made sure that I knew that he hated it. At one point I was posing the grooms brothers and instead of all of the brothers on the same step I had two of them step one step up. The Dad threw a fit, "I hate it, I do not like that at all." I simply told him, "That is ok I am still going to take the picture." Well to be honest it was the best of the two shots. The very next pose was all of the grooms immediate family, The dad threw another fit, "I am not doing to do what she tells me." His son said to him,"Dad shut up and do it!" I am so glad that the son stuck up for me. When I went through the photos last night I noticed three things...1)Dad and Mom rarely look at the camera, let alone smile. 2)They never wore the boutineer or corsage that was made for them, in fact in the picture you can see him holding them. 3) out of 699 photos he only smiles once and that was at the reception when he is swing dancing with the bride. This guy was so rude I almost started to cry.

All in all we got everything done, and we did it under budget. That was the most stressful thing that I have ever done. There was way more drama, but I would be here all night trying to tell you about it. My wedding photos are by no means professional, but I think that I did a great job. As decorator, planner, caterer, florist and photographer I think that Becc(Jons sister) and I did an amazing job.

I picked Jon up from the airport today, it was so good to have him back. I missed him so much!! He brought me some gifts(I will have to post pictures later I can't find my card reader). I am going to have Jon tell you all about Penn State, he says that I tell all of our news so there is no reason to blog anything. This will be a perfect opportunity.

You poor thing! That is seriously why I don't like to have anything to with weddings except for standing in for photos. :) I was watching Who's Wedding is it Anyway? last night and I never want the job of a wedding planner! Yikes!

Tell me about it. My Mom told me that I could plan the next wedding in our family. I told her no way!

You realize that you are sealed to Jon, Jon is sealed to Becc, Becc is sealed to Ammon, and Ammon is sealed to his sister, and Ammon sister is now sealed to the Jerk's son. Which means .....

Thank you anonymous....I can only guess that that is a family member of mine. Anyway I did realize that, fortunately for me, I shouldn't ever have to see him again in this mortal life. In the life after, I think that it will all work out. NO THANK YOU on the offer to plan a wedding, I thought I made that clear. Actually it depends on how much you are going to pay me.
