Cute story:
Jon likes to make Brett trail mix. At first he started out with chocolate, raisins and gold fish. Last week he came up with the a new trail mix containing chocolate, raisins, goldfish, cheerios and peanuts. It was so yummy and a big hit with a little boy. Sunday rolled around and as I was packing snacks for a boy I had thought about packing the trail mix but decided not to, cause a child in nursery is severely allergic to peanuts. The nursery leaders have asked that you not give you kid anything that had peanuts in it before nursery. Anyway that didn't prevent me from packing some trail mix for myself. So I packed it and hid it in my church bag knowing full well the repercussions that would come about should a boy see it. So we are sitting in the middle of sacrament(the passing of the sacrament) and a little boy spots the trail mix and grabs it(note: Brett is not allowed any snacks until after the sacrament is over). I immediately grab them and put them back in my bag. All of the sudden Brett screams in a sad voice, "Chocooooooooolateeeeeeeeeeeee!!" All Jon and I could do was laugh, it was way too funny. He is a big chocolate fan, just like his mom!!

Lake Michigan

A couple of weeks ago while Jon's sister was still in town we took a short trip to Lake Michigan. Boy did we have a blast. The sand was white and warm, the water was probably 65 degrees. The waves just about knocked me over a couple of times. How is the beach with six kids you might ask, interesting is all I have to say. We kept sis in this little mesh bubble(thanks Becc) and each boy was assigned an adult. It worked out pretty well there were a few times when one adult had two boys(only Ammon and I were dresssed to get wet), but it worked and we loved it.

Micah is our sand mummy! Well all of the boys got to be sand mummies except for Brett(his choice).

4th of July

We spent the 4th of July at Mom and Dad Wierschke's. We had a blast, the little boys loved it for the most part. They really didn't like the really loud fireworks. I love it cause I got to to all the pyrotechnics. Here are a few pictures of our fun(there are no pictures of our actual fireworks, mainly cause they were all illegal and I was to busy lighting them off)

Snakes(the boys loved these)! The only legal fireworks in Michigan are Snakes, Sparklers and Pop its. Hello!! Michigan is way greener the Washington could ever be, and we can have a lot more fireworks then Michigan. No wonder my fireworks were illigal!!

This is super cute!! I thought it was funny/true, hope you enjoy it!!

Flipped

For some reason the movie industry in moving some of its movie productions to Michigan. All Michiganders are super excited, hoping that it will boost our economy. As a result in the last six months two movie have been or are being filmed here that I am aware of, and one that we have been asked to be extras in(we could be extras cause we were going out of town for spring break). the first movie is called Betty Anne Waters and you can read about it here and here. A portion of this movie was filmed on the University of Michigan Campus, and is suppose to be release this year sometime. It is based on a true story.

The next movie is called Flipped. You can read about this movie here and here. The exciting thing about this movie is that a good portion of the movie is being filmed in my back yard. Ann Arbor pretty much has a park for every neighborhood and so everyone lives close to a park. Well the park that they picked is the one closest to our house. They have been working on the park for the last month molding it into what they want it to be for three days of filming (today through Wednesday). The movie is based off of a novel called 'Flipped' by Wendelin Van Draanen, and is scheduled to be release sometime next year.

I'll see if I can get some pictures today while they are filming, if not maybe after they are done filming for the day!!

The Difference Between Boys and Girls

I am sure that you all know the big difference between boys and girls, but there is another difference that I have noticed.

Most of you know either for experience for word of mouth, that little boys can be quite the fountains. When Brett was little we often got sprayed when changing his diaper. If he didn't spray us he shot it across the room. Little girls are not like that, if anything they are bubbling fountains, nothing too harmless really. Although Katherine has wet on me she has however pooped on me. I first learned of her great talent when she was a week old. I was changing her pants and right in the middle of it she pooped and shot it one and a half feet and hit the closet door and the carpet. Since then we hadn't had any other incidents worth mentioning, that is until Wednesday.

Jon and I were in a rush to get the kids ready, because Jon's sister and her family were coming up to Ann Arbor before they left back to Colorado. I had just finished feeding Katherine and was at the end of a diaper change, when all of the sudden she shoots poop three and a half feet. The worst part was that she shot it all over me, herself, the couch and pretty much everything on the couch. I couldn't believe that she had such range. Yeah I had to shower after that, it was pretty gross. I also had to clean up everything and that stuff stains good.

So I have come to the conclusion that I would rather be shot by a boy then a girl. Less stinky and easier to clean up. I guess it doesn't matter, if you have kids you are bound to wear their bodily fluids at least once during their life time!!

**I didn't post pictures cause I thought that that would be really gross! I only posted this for a good laugh!

Birth Annoucement

Frankenmuth

Since moving to Michigan I have heard about this Bavarian town called Frankenmuth but also about this gigantic Christmas store that they have. So while my parents were in town we ran up there and spent the whole day having a blast. Here are our pictures....Ornaments that we got at Bronners!! We got the ornaments personalized!

Toledo Zoo

Last Tuesday my little family and my parents and little sister all went to the Toledo Zoo!! We got there around one pm and started out at the polar bears/seals. Brett was just loving looking at them swim by and that is when we realized that none of us brought our cameras. Luckily we had cell phone cameras so we were able to snap a few photos of Brett. Brett's favorite animals were the seals, penguins, and elephants. The seals and penguins were among our first attractions to visit, so naturally we had to go back and see them again before we left(we saw the Elephants on the way out so they were fresh in Brett's mind)!! Brett had so much fun that he still asks to see the seals, lucky for us the Zoo has some of the animals on webcam, which you can view here. It is really interesting for me, cause I never thought that there was a whole lot for me to learn. But I found out that going to the Zoo with a newborn is just as much an attraction as any of the other animals there. I have never had so many eyes on me all the time, it was really wierd.
