Well to start out our saga, our mover were suppose to be at our house the morning of the 5th. We were planning to start our trek to Denver by 1pm. The movers called at 12pm and informed us that the truck was stuck at the weight station, and would not make it to our house until 2pm. WE figured that would be ok and that we would leave shortly after 4pm. The Bethany Deardeuff had Brett all day(THANKS A TON) so that we could finish packing and cleaning(Michael Deardeuff help us clean).
The Movers arrives "on-time" and started right away packing, I walked them through the house and showed them what should stay and what should go. When I got to the Master Bedroom, I told them that the plastic covers were under the stand that the bed sat on. Now I have NOTHING against Hispanics, but this guy and I were having severe communication problems, He told me that he had plastic to cover the mattresses in. I told him that I didn't want to pay for the covers and that I wanted to use mine, he again told me that he has the covers. I finally gave up and told him that when it came time to move the mattress that I would look at my plastic and then decide, if I would use my plastic or his.
By 3pm I decided to run errands, so that as soon as the movers were gone at 4pm that we could leave immediately. I called frequently to check in and by 5:30pm I was just picking up Brett and the movers were still there. Now I was just hoping to leave by 6:30pm, I tried to clean around the movers as best we could, but we still had a few things that needed to be done after they left.
When I got home I realized that our bed had been moved to the truck, I asked Jon if he had looked at the plastic that we had for the bed( I left him with strict instructions to check the plastic.) He told me no that he went down stairs to take a nap, knowing that it was going to be a long drive that night, and when he woke up the bed was gone. I went up to our room and found the plastic bags that the mattress covers come in on the floor of our bedroom, and they had thrown away our plastic.
8:30pm The Movers are finally done!! You would have thought that we had a ton of junk. By this time I was so stressed out that I started crying, we had to hurry and leave, the movers had left their tape rolls all over the house. I had to at least clean up after the movers before we left. I didn't want to drive all night to Denver but we didn't have any money to get a motel. We cleaned up the house the best we could and filled the trash can to overflowing.
As I finished packing the car(it was packed, Poor Brett, things were piled around him.) Jon did a final run though the house, and he found my wedding dress. After specific instruction to take my wedding dress, they had left it in the closet and shut the door. I have no idea if they forgot it or not, I started crying again. Not only cause we almost left my wedding dress, but also because we couldn't fit it in the car. We tried to re-pack the car so we could fit my dress, and at 9:30pm we left our beloved home and drove away.
