The ward had a potluck the same night and so we ventured out to get free food :)! The is a family in the ward who has been so generous with their resources. They always have TONS of free potatoes for people in the ward, so naturally we benefit from that. Well Friday night they had free asparagus, you might not think that that is anything to be excited about, but I have been craving it for the last couple of weeks. So I got a modest bunch, and then went back and got 20+ pounds. So with everything that I had going on, I also had to figure out what the heck I was going to do with 20+ pounds of asparagus.
Saturday morning we stitched up one the of nursing pillow covers, since that is all the time we had. Mom is going to stitch up a few more for me and then when she comes to stay with me I will stitch up the remaining(we will see how I feel). Here is the top(feel free to click on it to enlarge, super cute fabric, and I got a deal on it!!)Bottom
Grandma Watson( a elderly sister in the ward that we adopted cause she doesn't have any family, and Brett loves her) came over for luner(Lunch/ Dinner) and stayed with us until about 8pm. Which I felt gave me the right to use her to help me can all of that silly asparagus, and she was a good sport and helped me out. We had such a fun time chatting and I told her that this was the first time I had ever canned in my life(done the whole process start to finish. My mom taught me the process(thanks mom, it came in handy), but I was to go at it by myself with out supervision). Grandma Watson was so proud of my finished product that she gave my her old water bath canner!! I know I am so excited, I have all the stuff I need to can my own food!! 20 pounds goes really fast and it only yielded 14 jars. So you will never believe what I did, I called that sister in the ward and asked for more. Are you shaking your head at me? I bet you are. I think I got 20+ more pounds, which mom wierschke is going to dehydrate for us.
I also made these tile pictures...
With all of the standing, I lost my ankles for good. I don't know if I will ever see them again :)! I also pulled a muscle/tendon/ligament(don't really know which one) in my foot so now I limp everywhere. Actually I am trying not to, I bet it looks kind of awkward to see a limping pregnant woman.
