An Important Phone Call

After I got Brett up from his nap on last Monday and changed a diaper, I decided to snuggle him in his rocking chair. He was pointing at things and telling me what they were. All of the sudden the phone rang and I said, "Who is that, Brett?" Brett looked at me and said, "Jesus." Our caller was not Jesus, but is just as important to us(daddy). I wish that Jesus would call me, once a day/week, shoot I would even take once a month. What would he say to me? Would I be showered with praise or would I be chastized? How long would the call last? Several minutes or hours? Would I ask Him for things I need, or would I complain about my life? Would I fall asleep during our conversation, like I do during prayers? I am grateful however that the scriptures that we read every night help Brett to understand that Christ is the center of our lives, he is our all. Even though his parents are not perfect, we are trying our hardest to make sure that he knows what is important to us.

One a lighter note, this past week we have been playing music everyday. Brett loves to come up to us and say, "dance, dance." Or he wants us to pick him up and then dance with him. Today in sacrament during the closing hymn, Brett was standing on the ground between pews telling dad and I to dance, while he was doing his own little jig!! Ah, the joys of Motherhood. I love my little guy!!

I was thinking of you today because Ella has started growling like Brett used to do. It's too cute!

That is so sweet. I love how much kids remind we adults about what's really important in life. :-) great post.
