Library

Ann Arbor has insane taxes for residents(so I am told), but we benefit from some amazing things. Pretty much every neighbor hood has a park in it, and not just a crummy park. We are talking super nice playground toys. And we have five or six libraries, we have one just down the street from us and we really enjoy it. We go and check out books and movies, and then enjoy them until their due date. We either return or renew them. Brett's Favorite thing to get at the library is Hogan Heroes. We have renew, "it looked like spilt milk." He has that book memorized. I have checked out a few books myself, like Glenn Beck's, "Arguing with Idiots." which I have had to renew myself a few times. We love our Library, I don't know why we haven't taken advantage of it sooner.

Build and Grow

Becc told us about this really great program that Lowe's has. It is called, Build and Grow. It is for Children 3 and up(we started taking Brett three months shy of three). You take the kids to Lowes(every other saturday), and they give the kids Aprons, Goggles to keep. Then they supply the kids with the wood and tools to build their projects. When they have completed it the project(With parental help), they award the kid a certificate and a patch that you can sew on their apron. For those interested I gave you the link, that gives you the information and the steps you take to sign up. The best part it that it is 100% free, and you can go to any Lowe's in the nation. A Great Surprise

I mentioned in a post a month ago, that I was working on a scrapbook for my Sister in Law, Becc. Anyway I finished that 36 2-page layout in record time, and it looked fantastic. I will post pictures as soon as I can get Becc to take some pictures ;). I was very fortune to borrow a friends Cricut scrapbooking machine. Using that machine cut my scrapbooking time in half. Something that would have taken me several months, took me two weeks.

While making said scrapbook, I often would call Becc for, well to chat. Naturally, I didn't tell her anything about what the scrapbook looked like, because it was going to be a surprise, which it was. Anyway, during one of our chats, I jokingly told her, that if she bought me a Cricut I would do all of her scrapbooking for life. We laugh and joked and kept chatting.

Fast forward a week and we had just arrived at the family reunion. We were preparing dinner, I asked Becc for a bowl and she told me to look in a white box. So I did, and I didn't find a bowl, I found a Cricut. I was so excited and have since used it a million times(even for Cub Scouts), using it for vinyl is super amazing. I now have a hundred projects that I have floating around in my head. I am loving every minute of it, Thanks Becc!!
