Pregnancy Update......Finally!!

Does anyone even read these updates? If not, can I stop writing them? I will take no comments as a sign that I can stop.

The doctor ran some blood tests last week. I was having night sweats coupled with my migraines, he was afraid that I might have pre-eclampsia. If the results came back positive, I would have to go to the hospital and get steroid shots and be induced. Luck for us, the test came back negative which meant that out sudden trip to mom and dads was still on for last weekend.

I fell off of the exercises wagon last week, I can't really tell you what happened but I just didn't do it(I am lame, I know). I did start up again last night, just cause I am determined to come out on top. Plus it helps me to feel good.

I mentioned that we went to Mom and Dads last weekend. The main reason that we went, was so that I could get all of the baby stuff together for Mom and Dad to bring up this weekend. It also gave Jon and Dad a chance to build a big boy bed for Brett, so that he can get accustomed to the bed before sissy needs the crib. I got to sew all weekend, for anyone who knows me knows that I don't sew at all. I was going to get a picture as proof but you will just have to take my word for it. On the list of things to sew was: 10 receiving blankets, a bath towel for Brett, nursing cover and some nursing pillow covers. Of all of that I only got the blankets done, which means that I will be sewing all of this weekend, and quite possibly(hopefully not) the whole week that Mom stays with me. With all of the sewing that I did, I lost my ankles(well they're swollen).

I am having TONS of braxton hicks contractions, which is no big deal. It only makes me more excited that we are getting closer. I am working like a mad women to get prepared, I feel like I don't have any time to do anything else.

Eternity Just Isn't Long Enough!!

There are just some days out of the year that you wish you could forget. I know sometimes I wish I could forget my birthday. I am grateful for the sacrifice that was made for me on that day, but I just can't stand being the only one in the room not singing, or the fact that I am another year older.

There is however one day of the year that I treasure the most.....On this day, I was all nerves as I waited for my dad to bring me my temple recommend/clothes that I had forgotten, hoping that he would hurry up so that I didn't miss my session. I tried to soak up everything and hurry to get ready at the same time. I was late for my session and found myself briskly walking to the celestial room........there is nothing like seeing your future husband on the other side of the veil.......no nerves, my heart was racing. The elevator ride seemed like it would take forever. I can't even tell you what I felt as I walked into that sealing room, I can tell you that I had a death grip on Jon's hand just in case he made a mad dash for the door. I have a slight idea what the sealer said to us, I know that Jon could recall more of that then I could. I remember how I felt as I knelt across the altar from my love, I couldn't stop smiling. Then we uttered the most powerful word that has changed our lives forever....."YES," no nerves, I knew I had made the right choice. We exchanged rings and then waited as all of our family/friends hugged us. We parted and got dressed in our traditional wedding clothes, and then we greeted the world together. Two hours later we were on our way to a little family party.

I am so grateful, for a husband who loves me despite all of my short comings. Who is so patient and kind, he is always trying to find ways to make my life a little easier. He is always there for me, even when I am two months pregnant and I am so weak that I can't hold myself up to puke. He is my greatest friend, my protector, my advocate, my love. I wake up every morning and am so grateful that he is there with me every step of the way, I know that I could not do it with out him.

I have loved learning and growing with him over the last four years and look forward to eternity and know that we have lots more learning and growing to do, but together we will have fun and make the most of it. I am ever so grateful for the decision that we made to be sealed in the temple, and for the impact that has had on our lives and that of our children. There isn't one tiny little thing about our marriage that I would change....absolutely nothing! I feel about Jon the same way Joseph Smith did for Emma, I would go to hell and back for him. I love him that much! Four years, the best husband any girl could ask for and two wonderful kids.....could my life be any better?
Thanks Sweetheart for making me a better wife and mother. Thanks for keeping me grounded and sane :). Thanks for all of your love, support and encouragement in everything that I do!! I LOVE YOU TONS!!!

(For those who are sad that I missed the pregnancy update don't worry it is coming, along with the exciting events of our weekend. Look for it on Wednesday(unless something more exciting come up))!!

Lappop

I told you a few weeks ago how much I was enjoying Brett's imagination. So this is what he came up with a few days ago...
He calls it his "lappop" or as we know it his Laptop. He loves computers, which is why we gave him the keyboard and mouse. He was using the little tote as his laptop monitor, that boy makes me laugh.

Brett's vocabulary doubles if not triples everyday, he will wake up and say the strangest things. Two months ago, we went in to get him out of his crib and his word of the day was, "economy." No joke, he had only heard the word once the night before, in a conversation that Jon and I were having and the next day he can say it clearly. With that being said, he knows his name, we had been working on it a few months ago. Since then he has this silly idea that everyone's name is Brett, which is cute. A week ago, Jon called him Brett Robert, the next day he was calling himself Brett Robert. I wondered if I could get him to say his last name, knowing full well that it would not work at all. So I tried it (were-sh-key) and he repeated "were-chi," you can just about imagine how happy I am. My boy knows who he is, his paternal grandpa was so proud, he told Brett that it took him 17 years to get that right. Yay for my boy, he is too cute!!

Pregnancy Update

I know that I am a little late on the post, it has been a crazy weekend. So crazy in fact that I don't know what even happened on Friday. Saturday I went to the Detroit temple with the Relief Society and we filled the endowment room, temple workers had to pull out folding chairs. We had over 40 sisters come and one sister(who had waited 22 years, not quite sure why) took out her own endowment. That was an amazing experience to sit in that room and to see all of those sisters dressed in white. I had this amazing feeling, that that is what it is all about.....Temple Work and linking families forever!!

When lands me at today. Even though I would rather be out in the living room snuggling right now, I know that I would be in a heap of trouble if I didn't update you all(some of you might not care).

At 33 weeks I think that we are reaching our limit of space, we can not come to an agreement on which one of us should get it. So sissy has opted to move to my ribs, YAY for Mom!! I have been having some really bad back pain, that seems to come and go. The one thing that I am looking forward to when she comes(besides holding her) is that I will no longer have those awful leg cramps, they are just about killing me at night. When I was pregnant with Brett I had little to no swelling, with sissy I feel like a balloon(well only in my hands and feet, but still). My migraines are back!! I have had this one since the temple yesterday, and actually thought that I might pass out in the middle of the session, but was able to make it through. I never had them with Brett, but for some reason they are very frequent visitors during this pregnancy. Lets be honest, I don't mind her being in there it is better then being out here. I am biking 2.5-3.5 miles a day( I really don't want to fell like a blob after she comes) that is on top of the walks/exploration that I get with Brett. I hear that there are added benefits during labor and delivery so I am trying to be diligent. I found out today at church that air conditioning is a must, and if I can't have air conditioning I'll take air circulation.

We have been talking names this week and have come up with just about nothing, so feel free to leave suggestions. We also found out that Jon will be heading to Idaho Falls the week before I am due for a conference. Thank goodness for his Mom, she will come up and stay with Brett and I during that week(thanks Dad for giving her up, I know what a sacrifice that is for you). I went and bought some fabric that was on sale and will sure it to make more blankets, so I am excited about that. Other then that we are doing good, just waiting and wondering!!

46 Days(really? is that all?)!!

Picasso Came To Visit

I was reading a friends blog the other day and was just laughing at her little boy who is Brett's age, this little boy has repeatedly taken crayons and markers to their apartment walls. What else do you do, but laugh and be grateful that your kid doesn't do that.

Fact: Crayons, Markers, Pens, Pencils and any other writing utensil are not the only things that you can use to write on a wall.

The Proof:

Clean Up: 10 Minutes

This little gem actually came last week and was the zipper on Brett's sweater. You could say that I was not too concerned about what Brett was doing, until Jon came home and asked me what had happened to the wall. That is when I knew Picasso had come to visit.

Fact: A toddler can color eleven feet and two inches of wall with a blue crayon in 2.5 seconds.

The Proof:
Clean Up: 20 Minutes

Helping Mom clean the walls:
This is the picture that he was coloring before he decided to color the wall:Here is the back to the picture:I guess my little Picasso just needs a blank canvas!

I hope that you all got a good laugh at our expense.....Don't laugh to hard, you could next!!

The Loot

We had a blast. Grandpa did a great job documenting the hunt for us, all I can say is thanks for a fun weekend!

EPA Report

Today the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued a report in which they proposed regulating greenhouse gas emissions to help fight global warming. This report and decision irritates me so badly I could swear. I am not sure what all actions I am going to take to fight it but I am so peeved that I have to do something and so I am writing a blog post.

In this post I don't want to seem like I am criticizing Obama or his administration. Although I do think that the local Wal-Mart is better staffed than some of the positions in his administration he is the President of the United States and I am his biggest supporter and I hope the best for him. I also don't want to seem that I am anti-environmentalist. I am an environmentalist. That is why I am attracted to nuclear energy. I want a clean, economical source of energy for my children to use. I care enough about the environment that I am dedicating my life to doing research to help keep this planet clean.

With that said now for my rant on this latest EPA report. The EPA has determined that greenhouse gasses are contributing to global warming and as such are pose hazards to us and to future generations. This means that all sources of carbon emissions will need to be regulated. This will mean everything from office buildings and churches (they have to be heated and cooled somehow) to cars and lawnmowers. Industries will also be more heavily regulated.

As an environmentalist I am all for doing what we can to reduce our pollution. I am greatful for the work that the EPA has done in trying to clean up our water and our air. However, the pollution problems that we are facing cannot be cleaned up overnight. I cannot debate global warming but I do doubt the doom-and-gloom predictions that indicate that we need to stop all carbon emissions virtually overnight or the planet is doomed. The attempt to pander to the fear-mongering crowd that is calling for immediate drastic action will drive our economy past the breaking point and will result in hazards to ys and to future generations.

There are advertisements on television that talk about how great going green is and how many jobs will be created and how it will help the environment and the economy. What a load of garbage!!! Where is the funding for these projects and jobs going to come from? The government? Are we going to have another trillion dollar stimulus to build solar panels and windmills? That will lead to debt and hyperinflation that will make us yearning for the good-old-days of the great depression. Is industry going to be forced to pay it?

Right now so many companies are struggling. If the government forced environmental regulations on them that requried them to spend large amounts of money to "go green" then I fear that many companies would close their doors. One of the industries that would be hit hardest is the auto industry. They can barely survive right now. If the price of new cars went up because they suddenly had to apply stricter emission controls more car companies than the just the big 3 would be looking at bankrupcy. (Well, the big 3 would be gone so they wouldn't have to worry about going bankrupt).

If the government really cares there are so many other options. If you want to decrease pollution from cars then have the government spend the automake bailout money on new cars. Replace the current fleet of government vehicles. Offer the old vehicles at greatly discounted prices to people who have pre-1995 cars as their primary vehicles. Getting rid of the older cars on the road will lower CO2 emissions much more than stricter regulations on new cars. It will also create work for the autoworkers.

But of course, all the environmental groups are applauding this new proposed regulation. Congress is now scrambling to create legislation to enhance the regulations. California is applauding these efforts and as far as I am concerned California can't drop into the ocean fast enough. Right now this action is only proposed so let your senators and representatives and the EPA know that these regulations are going to cause more problems then they are going to fix. Comments and criticizims on this post are welcome (how else do we learn)
