After Kate's surgery, we had a little chat with the Surgeon. He told us that the surgery went well and that the cyst was 1/2 inch deep. Because it was so deep he cut down 5/8" deep just to make sure that he got it all. He is pretty sure that he got it all, but there is a chance that she has more in her neck. We need to watch her neck and make sure that no lumps, swelling or redness occur. If it does she will have to go back in for more surgery. When the surgeon was probing the cyst to see how deep he needed to cut down, the probe broke through the cyst.
During our little chat the doctor kept calling Kate a him. Finally he asked me how old "he" was. I told him that SHE is 6 months. the Doctor looked at me and said, "Sorry, she's 6 months." then he said, "Well I didn't operate down there." I chuckled and said, "Well I am glad you didn't." When I told Kate's Ped. what the Surgeon had said, she just about died, she thought it was so rude. Personally, I found it funny, it fit his personality.
